For the first time in the district sports history, the East Godavari district has bagged a total of 35 Medals in the State Level Athletics Competitions, which are held in Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad on 20th & 21st of this Month. Out of the 35 medals, 6 are Gold, 18 are Silver and 11 are Bronze medals. According to this, the District Athletics Association Secretary Mr. L.Chandrakanth had released a press note, here on Monday. He said the Under-16 Girls Athletics team from the District got All-round Championship in these competitions. Eight members from this championship team got selected for National Level competitions, he added. He stated 'this is the first time in the district sports history on achieving 35 medals at a time in Athletics competitions, it is a very good initiative and proud to the district'. Association Chairman Mrs. P.Chiranjeevini Kumari, Handicrafts Development Corporation Chairman Mr. Nanaji, Olympics Association President Mr. Y.D.Ramarao and others were appreciated all the students and the coaches for this achievement.
