A fire mishap took place here at Ayodhya Nagar on Wednesday leaving 42 shelters completly demolished. Due to this mishap, 50 families became homeless and caused estimated loss of 20 Lakhs property according to Revenue and fire department officials. From the past 15 years, one particular social group of poor people was residing in this area. As it is a Government place, more than 300 families appealed to officials several times to build Pacca houses in this place. However, as there was no reaction from Government, they were living in huts since many years. Conversely, this incident took place due to spread of fire from charcoal hearth to the huts. Apart from this, there was also gas leakage. Due to this, it created major loss. According to rumor that one of the diplomats wanted to occupy the land, therefore he committed this misdeed. Keeping aside all the reasons behind this incident, as the direction of the wind was towards west, luckily 250 houses escaped from this dangerous accident. Under the supervision of Jagannaickpur Fire Station SFI, Mr. P.Rambabu, three fire vans reached the incident spot and controlled the fire. At the same time, NFCL Fire and safety Incharge, Mr. Ganga Singh along with 20 personnel controlled the fire.
