Mamidikuduru, May 8th: A couple attempted suicide by consuming pesticide after they were tested positive to HIV/AIDS. The incident took place at Razole on Friday. They were immediately shifted to the hospital at Tatipaka where the doctors declared the man as brought dead. The woman is undergoing medical treatment at the hospital.
According to the police, B. Naga Munindrarao (30) belonging to Pasarlapudi Village was married to Uma Maheswari (25) of Appanapalli Badava Village some eight months ago. Munindrarao was working as a contract bus driver with RTC in Razole depot. He took his wife for medical tests as she was six months pregnant.
The medical tests conducted on the couple turned to positive results for AIDS. Shocked with the news, the couple consumed pesticide at their residence when the rest of the family went out to attend a marriage. While shifting to hospital, Munindrarao died on the way and Maheswari was under going medical treatment. Police filed the case for further investigation.
