Employees of public & private sector banks went on strike, here on Wednesday. All the employees boycotted their duties as part of this one-day protest against privatisation of banks, seeking immediate revision of wages, under the aegis of United Forum of Bank Unions (IFBU). This strike hits all the bank operations on the day. A total 500 sections of various banks in the district were remain closed. It resulted the halt of Rs. 800 Crore transactions in the district. Including Kakinada & Rajahmundry, all other places in the district are effected lack of bank operations with this strike. The IFBU district unit organised this protest infront of the Andhra Bank zonal office in Kakinada.
