Pulse polio immunisation programme has been commenced to conduct on 19th of this month, for the first time in this year. According to this, the Additional Joint Collector Mr. Markhandeyulu has conducted the district-level Task-force committee meeting with the medical department officials, here on Wednesday at the Collectorate in Kakinada. Speaking on this, he has ordered the officials to do strict and perfect arrangements for this program. As many as 5,17,216 children were there with an age of below 5yrs in the district, he noticed. So that around 7 Lakh doses of polio drops were being arranged, he added. He said, various departments have been put on alert and given specific tasks to mobilise resources to cover every child under this programme. A total of 3,250 vaccination booths and 112 mobile booths, will conduct the immunisation drive for which 13,158 people have been deputed. As many as 325 supervisors will coordinate the activity, he announced. A door-to-door campaign would be held for 2-days under this program, he added.
