Rashtra Samaikya Parirakshana Vedika has called to shutdown all the offices under central government departments in the district on Friday, in support to the ongoing Samaikyandhra agitation. According to this, the District JAC Leaders forced Banks, Insurance companies, Post Offices, BSNL, Food Corporation, Port, Customs & Central Excise offices to close. The JAC successfully conducted blockade of Reliance, ONGC & other Oil companies on Friday. All the private Educational institutions in the district voluntarily announced bandh for two days, starting from Friday. The agitators formed big human chains at various places in the city. Protests, Rallies & Fasts continued against to the decision of state bifurcation on Friday. On otherside, the city faces power cuts as the Electricity employees went on 72hrs strike for Samaikyandhra. There is an interruption occured to electricity supply in Kakinada Power House on Yesterday. power breakdowns have occured in many areas of the district due to some feeders repairs. But there is no staff to clear the issues, as all those employees are under the strike demanding United State 'Samaikyandhra'. The strike by the electricity employees intensify ongoing protests in Seemandhra. Emergency services like water supply, hospitals and railways are exempted from the strike. Thousands of Employees and Teachers are on strike. These strikes paralysis normal life in the district.
