Joint Collectror Mr. A. Babu said that action will be taken so that within two months 500 ration shops will be linked with Aadhar and ration goods will be distributed through Biometric method. Officer of Unique Identification Authority of India Mr. Mathew organised a video conference with district officers as Prime Minister Mr. ManMohan Singh is going to watch the Biometric process in 87th ration shop from Rajasthan through special live cast of Doordarshan. On the occasion of this conference joint collector Mr. Babu submitted that in 10 days they are going to link 50 ration shops with Aadhar and distribute goods. We need four thousand point of sale devices to organise this, he added. He also said that by following Biometric process of distribution 20% of rice and 40% of kerosene and other goods can be saved. Out of 2500 ration shops in the district, 47 ration shops are linked with Aadhar till now, he added.
Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad and Joint Collector Mr. A. Babu yesterday together examined the arrangements that are being made for linking the 87th ration shop in Kakinada to Aadhar. ADG Mrs. Padma of Aadhar Hyderabad region, Senior manager Mr. Nitin Agarwal and others also participated in this program.
