Joint Collector Mr. Babu organised a necessary meet with Sand Mining and Roads and Buildings department officials yesterday in Collectorate. He said that district is badly in need of sand and facing a very critical situation due to lack of sand. He ordered them that sand available here should be supplied to others only after meeting the complete need of sand in the district. Dealers will be empathised if any disregard or neglegence is shown in this matter. He ordered them to take immediate actions to meet the sand need of the district. He strongly admitted that unit sand price should not exceed Rs.1500 and more than 40 units of sand should not be dug per day in each sand mine. Severe action will be taken, if such thing happens, he added. He made clear that lorries should be allowed to go near sand mining dredge boats. Mining department DD Mr. Subrahamanyam, AD Venkateswara Rao, R&B SE Sridhar and several others participated in this meet.
