YSR's bronze statue to be unveiled

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 4 : The life size bronze statue of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, installed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh, will be unveiled by Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah in neighboring Yanam, the tiny territory of Pondicherry, as a part of the tourism festival on January 6. Pondicherry Chief Minister V Vaidyalingam and his cabinet colleagues will also attend the program.

Mr Malladi Krishnarao, Revenue Minister of Pondicherry who hails from Yanam, told media persons today it was a fitting that the bronze statue of DR YSR was installed in recognition of the great help done to Yanam people in supplying drinking water. In addition to increasing the water supply from the existing 19 cusecs to 33 cusecs, Dr Reddy has provided 55 acre of land for the construction of balancing reservoir. It is great boon to people of Yanam.' he added. He said a cultural program will also be organized in this connection in which noted cine artist Brahmanandam will be felicitated.
