Youth urged to pursue CA

Rajahmundry, Aug 18th: The president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Mr. Uttam Prakash Agarwal, called upon the youth to pursue chartered accountancy in view of the increasing demand for accountancy and auditing in the industries and lack of professionals. Inaugurating the information technology training center at local branch of ICAL here on Tuesday, Mr. Agarwal said that the body which was set up by an Act of Parliament in 1949 was going to set up new chapters taking its number to 25 from present 21 in several countries.

He said there is acute shortage of such professional in the industry. And the demand would increase further with the setting up of new industries. The ICAL president said that there were 137 IT training centers existing in the country and 138th centre was inaugurated in the city. Out of the 1.55 lakh members registered with ICAL, nearly 80,000 were practicing at present.
