World Wetlands Day @ Corangi by WWF

Director of World Wide Fund (WWF) State Unit Farida Tampal called upon to promote Corangi as tourist destination. She participated in a press conference conducted here on Wednesday at Nyros Technologies Software Company located in STPI at Collectorate premises. WWF is going to celebrate the 'World Wetlands Day' on Thursday at Corangi Mangroves located near city outskirts. Speaking on this, Farida Tampal stated that the main objective of this program is create awareness among local people about the importance of the Corangi mangroves. The aim is to promote it as tourist destination and  education people to keep the mangrove clean. Over 100 people across the 100 villages and 120 students from 20 Government schools of nearby areas would participate in this program here on Thursday. She also stated that in this program, importance of mangrove ecosystem, presence of keystone species and their contribution to the promotion of tourism would be discussed, she added. 
Interactive session on tourism promotion will also be conducted during afternoon with the villagers, she added. The sponsors of this program are Wildlife management division of forest department, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, Department of school education and city based software company Nyros Technologies. In this program, State Project Coordinator of the UNDP Project K.Tulasi Rao, CEO of Nyros Technologies Mr. MNS Pavan Kumar and others were present. In this program, the poster on world wetland day was also released on this occasion.
