Kakinada, Mar 22nd: World Water Day was observed by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada at the university premises here on Monday. Professor of Indian Institute of Sciences, V.N Sharma attended as the chief guest for the program. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sharma stressed the importance of taking healthy and pure water for maintaining good health conditions. He also stressed the need of conducting awareness programs on sanitation for the public and highlighted the importance of watershed programs. He said that nearly 20 kinds of diseases like Diarrhea, Typhoid, Jaundice and others will be affected due to water contamination. University director, P. Uday Bhaskar, Principal EV Prasad, civil engineering professor, K.V.S G Murali Krishna and others spoke on the occasion.
