‘World Tourism Day' was celebrated at the District Collectorate here on Monday. Essay writing and painting competitions were conducted for school students on concepts such as Tourism and Biodiversity. The students took out a rally from P.R. College to the Collectorate and a meeting was held at Bennet Club. Participating as the chief guest, District Collector, Mr. M. Ravi Chandra said that all the tourist spots in the district would be promoted. He said that the district was known for its ancient places of religion, forests, and the beautiful Konaseema. By promoting our tourist spots, we can improve our revenues too he added. Later, Mr. Ravi Chandra presented prizes to winners. Joint Collector Mr. K. Sasidhar, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad B. Bhavani Das, In-charge Tourism Officer Mr. K. Satyanarayana, District Employment Officer K. Santhi, and District PRO Mr. V. Ramanjaneyulu were present.
