World Tourism Day-2012, has celebrated here on Thursday, by District Tourism Authorities at Kakinada Beach. Amalapuram MP Mr. Harsha Kumar and District Collector Mrs. Neethu Kumari Prasad were participated in this program as chief guests. Speaking on this, Mr. Harsha Kumar stated that the beauty of Konaseema cannot be compared with other places, it is a scenic beauty having lush green fields and many other places which are very happy to see. He said, Konaseema is much beautiful than Kerala. We are proud to have Konaseema in our state, he added. Later, Collector stated that the private tourism authorities should co-operate with Government tourism department to provide good service for tourists. Various cultural programs and sports competitions are conducted for the school students in these celebrations. Food festival program also arranged as a part of these celebrations. Assistant Civil Supplies officer Mr. Francis, Tourism Department Assistant Manager Mr. Gangababu, Kakinada Tourism Dept Officer Mr. Venkata Chalam, MPDO Satyavathi, Tahsildar Mr. Joseph and others participated in these celebrations. Lack of publicity, very less number of public have attended for this program.

         
             Mr. Sivanarayana Reddy, writter of East Godavari District History and Culture, has received 'Excellence in Writing and Publishing' award from State Minister Mr. Vatti Vasanth Kumar here on Thursday as a part of the World Tourism Day-2012 celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad.
