World Red Cross Day has been celebrated here on 8th May to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Jane Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross Movement. The celebrations have  been observed in the presence of Red Cross Society staff at Bennet club near Collectorate here on Sunday in Kakinada. Collector Mr. Ravi Chandra presided over the celebrations and along with other staff, he offered a garland to the photograph of Henry Dunant. Later, Kakinada Revenue Divisional, Pithapuram Municipality officers & other staff, organized a blood donation camp. Speaking on this, Mr. Ravi Chandra stated that blood donating is a very good service to help the people who need it the most. He called upon the people to donate blood, said blood donating is not hazardous and it proves to be a healthy habit. Kakinada RDO Mr. G.C.Kishore Kumar stated that the camp have been conducted with the inspiration given by the District Collector. In-Charge Mr. Joint Collector Ramarao, In-Charge DRO Padma, Red Cross Secretary Mr. Durga Raju, Dr. Alluri Vijaya Lakshmi and others were present in the celebrations.
