World Ozone Protection Day was observed at Mahatma Gandhi Municipal School, Gandhi Nagar in Kakinada, here on Monday. The program was held under the chairmanship of the School Principal Mr. Venugopal Rao. According to this, the District Greencore Convenor and Sathi Rajashekar Environmental Education Foundation President Mr. Sathi Venkat Reddy has presided over the program as the Chief Guest. Speaking on this, he said that the Ozone depletion would effect human health along with all the living and non-living things on Earth. He stated that owing to high consumption of chloroflurocarbons, the ozone layer is being damaged and is leading to health hazards. Later, Principal Mr. Venugopal Rao has said that already Australia and other countries were experiencing many disadvantages of damaging ozone layer. He called upon the people to save the Earth and protect environment for our future generations. He also asked the students to grow plants and keeping Earth green. Mrs. Hemalatha Srivalli, Mr. D. V. Ramana, Mr. Tulasi Rao, Mr. Vara Prasad, Mr. Durga and others participated in the program.
