World Heritage Day Celebrated

World Heritage Day was celebrated by Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) at  Andhra Sahitya Parishat Museum this Sunday. Additional Joint Collector B.Rama Rao participated as the chief guest. The program was organized in association with the State Archeology Department and Sri Prakash Synergy School, Peddapuram. On this occasion, Mr. Rama Rao appreciated the INTACH for conserving cultural heritage of the district and promised to extend his cooperation for its activities. Assistant Director of Archeology IDV.Prasad Babu said the Andhra Sahitya Parishat museum was initially established at Madras in the year 1911 and it was subsequently moved to Kakinada in 1946. Nevertheless, the 13th Finance Commission has sanctioned a sum of Rs 2 Cr for its renovation. INTACH District Convener L Seshu Kumari explained the importance of the World Heritage Day and International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and UNESCO declaring the theme for 2010 as Agriculture Heritage. Sri Prakash Synergy Schools Director Ch.Vijay Prakash, Principal Suchita Singh, Andhra NCC XVIII Battalion Commander Col. V.P. Singh and others participated.
