World Environment Day-2013 was observed at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada here on Wednesday. The theme for World Environment Day-2013 is ‘'Think! Eat! Save”. The program was jointly organised by AP Pollution Control Board, Dharitri Foundation & JNTU-K. Firstly, they had conducted a rally. Later, speaking on this occasion, JNTU-K Vice Chancellor Dr. Tulasi Ram Das has stated that the plantation is very much helpful to protect our mother earth from global warming. He gave a call for the students to reduce usage of cell phones, laptops and other electronic goods. He opined that every person should work with responsibility to protect our mother nature. He also said that mere planting a sapling will not do but it needs to be taken care after planting. SP Mr. Siva Shankar Reddy,  AP Pollution Control Board officials, Darithri Foundation founder Surekha, Mr. Grandhi Babji, JNTU-K Principal Mr. Padma Raju, NCC Cadets, NSS members and students participated in the program.

World Environment Day was observed at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada. On this occasion a sapling was planted by the Academic Coordinator, Mr. B.E.V.L Naidu. Speaking on this, Mr. Naidu said that we are much neglecting our own Environment and our carelessness leads to Global warming. He gave a call for the students and the staff members to reduce water, air and noise pollution in order to reduce pressure on Environment. This programme was attended by the NSS programme officers Mr. T.Tejeswara Rao and Mr. L.Diwakara Rao and the teaching and non teaching staff and students.

Subha Niketan School students organised a rally on this occasion. The rally was also observed by Darithri Foundation, AP Pollution Control board & JNTU-K.

Many other schools, colleges & organizations from the city observed the day as well.
