Visakhapatnam Assistant Collector, Mr. Kartikeya Mishra, here on Tuesday, said that teachers had the responsibility of updating the knowledge of their students and infusing confidence among them to face the challenges in life. A workshop on ‘Skill Gap Assessment Methodology for Academic Institutions in Relation to IT Industry,' was organized jointly by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) and Mahindra Satyam Computer Services at Senate Conference Hall. Stressing the need for encouraging students towards research, Mr. Mishra said that the teachers too could continue their research work and publish their papers in journals. Vice-Chancellor of the JNTUK, Prof. Allam Appa Rao said that there was a need to implement tutorial system to improve the knowledge of students. He said that competition in the private sector was increasing day by day and the educational institutes must train up the students to manage with the pressure. Academic Planning Director Mr. G.V.R. Prasada Raju presided over this workshop. JNTUK Rector Mr. K. Satya Prasad, Registrar Mr. V. Ravindra, Research Director Mr. K. Padma Raju, Head of Computer Science Department GVR Murthulu addressed in the workshop. Representative of the Mahindra Satyam Mr. E. Ravi Eswara Rao and others were present.
