Kakinada, Mar 4th: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University has organized a one day work shop on ‘Strategies to Cope with the Global Economic Meltdown’ on Wednesday. The workshop was organized under TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Program) at civil engineering department. University vice chancellor, Mr. Allam Apparao has inaugurated the workshop. Several eminent personalities from various places attended the program.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Apparao said that the aim of strategic planning was to raise technical education to world class trough innovation and experimentation. Prof. P. Uday Bhaskar said that strategic planning and strategic thinking are the main tools to come out of the present crises. Prof. V Gurudutt Kumar of BIT (Blekinge Institute of Technology), Swedan said that economic crises can be effectively managed with certain precautions. He gave an example by remembering the economic crises during 1990s which was managed effectively then.
Mr. Kumar assured help from BIT to JNTU in achieving the status of world class university. A power point presentation on strategic planning was given Mr. Chirs Kaufman, Avogia Consultancy of USA. The presentation was all about the methods of overcoming the economic crises in India. University principal E.V Prasad, vice principal Dr. Padma Raju, K.V Ramana, Aditya engineering college chairman N. Shesha Reddy, director Prabhakar Rao and many more participated.
