Website on temple properties

Tadepalligudem, Aug 24th: The endowments authorities will come up with a website providing information on the properties of various temples in the state and the valuable ornaments in their possession by October 2. In a meeting held with executive officers of various temples in West Godavari here on Monday, the endowments assistant commissioner, Mr. Suresh Babu, instructed the temple executive officers to submit the information in two days to help them post it on the website for the benefit of devotees.

Mr. Suresh also cautioned them not to give wrong information. Referring to security arrangements at temples, the assistant commissioner said they were going to arrange security alarms and closed circuit televisions at all temples and added that per directions from the state government, closed circuit (CC) cameras would be set up at temples having annual income of not less than Rs 5 lakh. He said they were getting revenue worth Rs 1.31crore and Rs 1.87 lakh of paddy bags from various temples located in the district. He also said that dhoop-deepa-nivedyam were being offered at 92 temples in the district.
