Kakinada, Mar 25^th: As an objective to provide franchise to every adult, the election authorities has made various arrangements for enrolling the voters in the district whose names are missing in the list. The date for enrolling the names was postponed for many times and at last concluded on Thursday. Serpentine queues were seen at many of the counters. Most of them were found to be youngsters.  Nearly 20,000 applications were received by the authorities on the last day of enrollment.

The second schedule of vote registration process started in the month of January and continued till March 23. During this period 85,000 applications were received and 65,000 were approved by the authorities. As a third schedule the date was extended till March 25. To meet the huge rush on the last day the registration counters were also opened at Revenue division offices along with the existing counters at polling booths and Thasidhar offices.

Previously the vote registration process used to continue till the last date of the nomination process. But with the orders given by the election authorities this time the process was concluded before the nomination date. In this concern few of the voters have lost their franchise this time.
