Kakinada, Jan 19th: Village servants who were agitating for better working conditions were arrested on Monday. The village servants were organizing dharna at local Revenue Divisional Office from past one month and have intensified the dharna on Monday. They were arrested on the charges of trespassing and obstructing the RDO office staff from entering the office. They even obstructed the women and others by blocking the gates at both the sides of the office.
III town SI, Pavan Kishore warned the agitators to withdraw the dharna. The agitators disagreed to do the same and continued their agitation. They turned up in large numbers and made slogans against the government. Police took the village servants into custody and took them to station. Police also took into custody about 50 contract employees of RSW at the zilla parishad office. Workers union leaders Shesha Babji, Ajay Kumar, K.S Srinivas, V. Raja Babu, village servant’s union leaders Paparao, T. Satyanarayana, and hundreds of Village servants took part in this dharna.
