Kakinada, June 27th: The East Godavari district administration will implement the concept of village malls in urban areas in the form of mini super bazaars. The village malls are developed in rural areas to cater to the needs of locals including farming community. Except the PDS (Public Distribution System) items will be available in these malls. The concept was initiated by the administration to provide reasonable source of income to the PDS dealer.
This program will benefit the PDS dealers who come forward to establish these malls and provide additional facility to locals and inturn they can earn additional incomethe administration as part of the exercise, will negotiate with fertilizer, pesticide and seeds companies, the dealers of general and fancy goods, internet center which include cell recharge coupons of all companies and allied items.
The concept is first to be implemented in Karapa District. The East Godavari joint collector, Mr. K. Sasidhar said that after taking into account the performance in this mandal, they will net extend the program in the entire district in the Phase I. the administration has already identified suitable premises in some villages for the activity.
