Vigilance on Mantripragada Choultry

Endowments Department Vigilance officers examined the records of Mantri Pragada's choultry which is possessed by Endowments department. On receiving information that the funds to be received at Endowments department are not collected in time, vigilance officers made this verification on Saturday. The Mantripragada Choultry was established in the year 1872 and 14 Square yards land of this choultry was given for long lease of 50 years by Young Men's Happy Club Founder in those days. In 1988, this choultry came under control of Endowments department. It was arranged to provide accommodation and food facilities to poor students. There are total 63 shops in the land which was given for lease. On this, choultry have to pay Rs.52,000/- per month to Endowments department. But, the payment is not done completely any month till now. Noticing this, Choultry EO Lakshmi Narayana informed to Endowments Department DC Trinath Rao. Therefore, DC Trinath Rao informed Vigilance officers to verify on his complaint. As part of this, Vigilance officers reached Kakinada from Hyderabad here on Saturday and cross verified the records of Choultry. They declared that Rs.5 Lakhs income is pending to Endowments Department. Vigilance Officer and Endowments Department Joint Commissioner Krishna Veni, Superintendent Krishna Murthy were part of this investigation. Speaking to media, she stated that they visited for cross verification of records in Mantripragada Choultry and the complete report will be submitted to Endowments Department Commissioner, she added.
