Calling upon the officials and elected representatives to work with close coordination for effective implementation of welfare programmes, Union Minister of State for Defence, Mr. M.M. Pallam Raju on Wednesday said that all the welfare programmes launched by the Government must reach the beneficiaries in time. He chaired the District-level vigilance and monitoring committee meeting here. MPs, MLAs and MPs from the District, who attended the meeting, stressed the need for discussing the issue of paddy procurement. Mr. Pallam raju also expressed dissatisfaction over the State Government's decision to withdraw cases filed against students during the agitations for Telangana State and unified Andhra Pradesh. Address a press conference here on Wednesday; Minister stated that though we have every right to express our anger, we are not supposed to damage public property. Withdrawal of cases is a wrong decision in principle, but the Government is forced to take this decision due to the prevailing circumstances, he added.
