Video conference on poll counting

Kakinada, May 6th: The chief election officer, Mr. I.V Subba Rao has ordered the district authorities to look over the arrangements of  poll counting which is scheduled to be held on May 16. A video conference was organized by him from Hyderabad on Wednesday. East Godavari District collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi, district SP Ms. Charu Sinha and others participated in the conference. Various issues regarding the counting centers, security, training to poll counting staff, appointment of micro observers, postal ballot counting and others were discussed.

 

EC ordered to conduct mock counting for the counting staff to create complete awareness about the counting process so that no confusion takes place on the counting day. He also ordered to arrange media center with all the facilities. He ordered the police officials to put a complete ban on the supply and sale of liquor during the day. Additional DGP, A.K Khan informed the EC about the arrangements done and ensured him to conduct counting in free and fair manner. Collector revealed that they have arranged five counting centers to conduct counting for 18 assembly and parliament segments and training for the polling staff will be held on May 8, 9, 12.
