JNTU-Kakinada Vice Chancellor Allam Appa Rao is elected as member of  A.P State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE)'s High Power Committee. There was a meeting held at Hyderabad last month under the chairmanship of Governor ESL Narasimhan. VC Allam Apparao, Registrar V.Ravindra and other senior administrators discussed progress made on the infrastructure front as per the standards agreed in this Wednesday. Prof. Appa Rao expressed happiness that the university has  launched a new web portal www.jntuk.edu.in in the place of old website www.jntukakinada.edu.in and latest features along with a hyperlink are also added to the affiliated colleges. Provision of `unique identification numbers' to all principals, teachers and students (85 percent coverage achieved till now) was an appreciable step towards enhanced connectivity. Personal verification of the affiliated colleges was being done by various committees formed by the Director of Academic Audit and disciplinary action recommended. Prof. Appa Rao who is a member of the APSCHE's committee on infrastructure, will be making a presentation on the developmental features of JNTU-K in the panel's final meeting to be held in the third week of this month. The recommendations of the high-power committee had already been successfully incorporated with the ultimate objective of earning a global reputation for the university, Prof. Rao asserted.
