DSP Mr. Lakshmi Narayana had formally launched the Vanitha CAT Card, introduced by the A.P. State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) here on Sunday. He called upon to utilize this Vanitha CAT Card scheme. Speaking to media persons, Mr. Lakshmi Narayana stated that RTC has been provided facilities to the passengers now and then. Introducing schemes like Vanitha card is very much appreciable and useful, he added. He also advised that everyone must evade using private travels and utilize RTC services for safe journey. Addressing beneficiaries, he said that the Vanitha Card would benefit women belonging to the economically weaker sections. He stated that the family could travel by any RTC bus enjoying a concession of 10 per cent on the ticket. Depot Manager, Mr. Murali Krishna said that people who have white ration card are eligible to apply for the Vanitha CAT Card. Fee for this Vanitha card is Rs.100/- only, he added. This card will be given on the name of ration card owner’s wife. Family member’s names will be included in the same card. Individual photographs can also be submitted if group photo of the family is not available. At the same time, xerox copy of ration card must be submitted. The Vanitha family card would also automatically provide insurance cover up to Rs.1 lakh to the cardholder in case of death in an accident.
