Hyderabad, Oct 22nd: The Andhra Pradesh government Thursday decided to write a letter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) urging it to probe the conspiracy angle in the helicopter crash that killed Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and four others last month. Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy told reporters that the government would write to the CBI to probe this angle as doubts were being expressed on whether the chopper crash was merely an accident. The meeting also discussed the status of investigations into the chopper crash and took note of the doubts being expressed by various quarters.
Rosaiah felt there was a need to probe the accident from all angles and decided to write a letter to the CBI, which is already probing the incident. The home minister pointed out that Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and a two-member commission formed by the state government was also conducting investigations into the crash. YSR, his special secretary, chief security officer and two pilots were killed when their chopper crashed in bad weather over a hillock in Kurnool district. The chief minister was on his way to Chittoor district.
