Kakinada, Jan 18th: The Universities functioning in the country would have to face a stiff competition from foreign universities to be established in India in the near future, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, Vice-Chancellor Professor Allam Appa Rao said on Monday. Addressing a press conference here, he said though there was competition among Universities in the country, there would be a ''testing time'' for them in the country when they would face competition from the foreign universities once they started their operations.
Professor Rao said students of JNTU spread over colleges in eight districts from Srikakulam to Prakasam districts should be able to solve their problems on this aspect. However, there was a system which would take care of their (students) welfare, he added. He said JNTU would strive for the students future so that they could get good jobs after completion of their education. Stating that ''transparency'' and ''accountability'' was the sole motto of JNTU, Professor Rao said there was less scope for mass copying as there will be four different sets of question papers in the examination pattern.
