The six-member UGC XI Plan committee that inspected infrastructure facilities on Friday evening expressed satisfaction with the facilities provided at the JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada. Sabyasachi Sengupta, Vice-Chancellor of West Bengal Technological University and Chairman of the team, interacted with M. Tech and B. Tech students during inspection. They were extremely astonished with the computer laboratories and said that they heard no age-old colleges are having such immense computer laboratory facility. Prof. Allam Appa Rao, Vice-Chancellor of JNTU-Kakinada, accompanied the team to various departments. Dr. Appa Rao felt that the UGC would release grants for creating more facilities at the college. The other members of the team M.A. Khan, Vice-Chancellor of Jharkhand S.K. University, Dulal Goldar, Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi, R.A. Gupta Malaviya, National Institute of Technology, Jaipur and P. Prakash, Additional Secretary, UGC, Delhi were present.
