In order to overcome the Global warming in future, District Forest Department, Voluntary Organizations and few colleges had come forward. They had participated in the plantation program conducted in District. They had started this plantation program from 9am in all surrounding areas of Kakinada and planted saplings in few streets. Earlier, Vice Chancellor of JNTU-K, Prof. Allam Apparao had participated in the inaugural function of 62nd National festival of tree planting celebrated annually during the rainy season (Vanamahostavam) at JNTU premises conducted in association with District Forest Department. Speaking on this, Mr. Allam Apparao stated that every individual must plant trees for environmental protection. MLA Kurasala Kanna Babu, ZP Chairman Ch.Venu Gopala Krishna participated in this program. They called upon that every single student from all colleges must adopt a tree. In this program, more than 150 students participated in association with Sujana organization and National Green Corp. Later, Elocution competitions were conducted on Environmental Protection. Vice Chancellor presented prizes to the winners of this competition. In this program, District Forest Department Officer Mr. PSR Raghu Veerayya, CV Satyanarayana, University Registrar V.Ravindra and Directors were present.
