Kakinada, Feb 23rd: Two of the quarry workers died and one was seriously injured in a blasting that took place at P. Rayavaram village in Yeleswaram Mandal of East Godavari district on Monday. The incident occurred when the huge boulders fell on the workers during the time of blast. Two of the workers died in the spot and one was injured. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
According to the sources provided by the police the deceased were identified as Lakshmana Swamy (37) and Maruvada Mani Raju (30). They were the residents of Lingavaram colony and Ramanayyapeta in Yeleswaram respectively. Both of the deceased including some other workers made arrangements for blast in the quarry and died in the blast that took place before the predicted time. The injured person was identified as Kuda Appanna. He faced severe injuries and was undergoing treatment in the hospital. The dead bodies were shifted to government hospital for post mortem. Yeleswaram police has filed the case and investigating the same.
