Kakinada, Mar 12th: A team headed by Kakinada rural CI, Mr. M. Venkateswara Rao arrested two persons and recovered silver jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh and 3 grams of gold from them on Thursday. Both were involved in the robbery that took place at Sowgandhi jewelery shop at Gollalamamidada in Pedapudi mandalam in September 2008. Both the accused were identified as Santhosh Kumar (21) belonging to Bhilai city and a local autorickshaw driver N. Veerababu (27).
According to the sources, the accused were arrested by the police red-handedly while selling the stolen property at a local jewellery shop near gold market center. Kakinada DSP B. Achutha Rao revealed the case details to the media on Thursday. He said that the thief’s made use of cooking gas in cutting the shutters of the jewellery shop and has stolen the silver anklets from the shop. DSP appreciated the police team for arresting the thieves. SI K. Vara Prasad, ASI S.M Shasha were along with CI.
