Hyderabad, Oct 6th: The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to depute Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman D K Audikesavulu Naidu to represent the state in the European Telugu Association Conference beginning from October 9 to 11 at Balaji temple, Dudley and at Kings Hall Stone in Trent, Great Britain. Mr Naidu, during his meeting with Chief Minister K Rosaiah informed him that the TTD was actively contributing to the relief works at Kurnool and other flood affected areas, including Mantralaya, in coordination with other philanthropic organizations.
Apart from arranging food packets and drinking water packets through Revenue authorities, TTD would dispatch one truck load of rice, provisions and arrange firewood and gas for cooking locally at Mantralaya. He said one lorry carrying bed sheets, 3,000 saris, 2,000 dhotis and towels were being sent to Mantralaya for distributing in the surrounding villages through Sri D K Audikesavulu Trust and others, the TTD chairman informed the Chief Minister. The Devasthanams was also arranging free transport for the public who want to send any material to the affected areas, he said adding the TTD employees have contributed their one day salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The TTD would continue to supply food and other materials till the situation improves.
