Hyderabad, Oct 18th: Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao reiterated that his party would launch an agitation to exert pressure on the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government to scrap the Supreme Court Judgment, declaring Hyderabad as 'free zone for police recruitment,' by amending the Constitution. After discussions with party leaders on the proposed struggle, he said the TRS would also file a revision petition in the Supreme Court on the judgment while at the same time hold agitations against the political administration to 'scrap the judgment' that would affect lakhs of families in Telangana Region.

The State Government was responsible for the free-zone concept though there was no mention about it in the Constitution, he claimed. Hyderabad was part of the Zone six as specified in the Presidential Order and the free zone tag was introduced in police recruitment in 1985 though there was no such provision in the order. Meanwhile, TRS Floor Leader E Rajender said the party would organize a public meeting in Siddipet in Karimnagar District on October 21 with four lakh people.
