Hyderabad, Oct 21st: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao Wednesday warned of a "civil war" if the government failed to stop implementation of Supreme Court order declaring Hyderabad a free zone for the matter of recruitment to police department. The Supreme Court last week had delivered a judgment declaring Hyderabad a free zone in police recruitment, meaning that people of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema regions can also be recruited in Hyderabad.

Addressing a massive public meeting at Siddipet in Medak district Wednesday evening, he demanded that the central government bring amendments to the constitution of India to overturn the Supreme Court order. "If the state and central governments fail to take steps for bringing constitutional amendment, they will be responsible for a civil war which they are provoking. This is my warning," he said while launching the movement against the court order.

KCR, the initials by which the TRS chief is popularly known, said the state government's decision to file a review petition in the Supreme Court was a conspiracy to put the issue in cold storage. He demanded that the government convene assembly session to pass a resolution urging the central government to bring constitutional amendment. Adopting aggressive tone, he gave slogan of 'Jago Telangana waley, bhago Andhra waley' (Wake up people of Telangana, run away people of Andhra).
