Tricycles and pensions to physically handicapped

Kakinada, Dec 3rd: On the occasion of world Disabled day, district collector Gopala Krishna Dwivedi has distributed Tricycles and Pensions to the physically handicapped people. Old age homes and welfare societies has organized a program at Ambedkar Bhavan on Wednesday.

     Collector has hosted the flag and inaugurated the program. Speaking on the occasion he remembered the various programs taken by the Government for the welfare of the Physically Handicapped people. He said that every month certificates will be issued to the PH people. In this regard they were planning to arrange 4 counters so that no disturbances would take place.

    Nearly 5 lakh Rupees was allotted through Zilla Parishad for the welfare of the physically handicapped and the funds were released for the construction of houses to them in Sambamurthy nagar area. “Recently through the special recruitment of backlog posts physically handicapped were appointed in different posts”, he added.

   ZP chairman, Venu was the Chief Guest for the program. He praised the efforts made by the government for the welfare of the physically handicapped people particularly in raising the pensions from 200 rs to 500 rs. He also appreciated all the welfare societies for their services towards the children who were physically challenged.

    Later appreciation certificates were given to the teachers and the banks that were extending their help for the society. Managing director for the society of physically handicapped, Jeevanbabu, Social welfare JD Prasad, SP Corporation ED Mahipal, Corporator Hemalatha also took part in the program.
