Tribal students excel in SSC results

Rajahmundry, May 28th: In the recently announced Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination results, the tribal students of Rampachodavaram agency in the district secured a record 91 percent of passes, surpassing their previous record of 79 percent. Out of the 2,149 tribal students who appeared for the exam 1,948 cleared their examination. The tribal welfare deputy director, Mr. B. Mallikarjuna Reddy said that the special coaching classes arranged for the students during the pongal and summer vacations helped to improve the pass percentage.

 

Out of the 57,262 students who appeared for the SSC exams in East Godavari, 46, 282 passed recording a pass percentage of 80.82. This is 3.14 percent more than last year’s percentage. The district reached 10th place which was in 11 position last year in West Godavari, of 42,071 appeared out of which only 35,882 passed by getting a total percentage of 85.28 and the district stood in the fifth position in the state. However it improved its performance by 1.24 percent this year over the previous year.
