Karimnagar, Oct 24th: Moved by the death of eight people due to Dengue, so far, Andhra Pradesh Health Minister D Nagender on Oct 24 announced those with symptoms of the illness could undergo treatment under the Rajiv Aarogyasri Health Insurance Scheme being implemented for Below the Poverty Line(BPL) people in the state. Chief Minister K Rosaiah would make a formal announcement in this regard, the Minister, who reviewed the health situation in the district along with his Cabinet Colleagues J Krishna Rao, D Sridhar Babu, told reporters here.
As many as 116 positive cases had been recorded so far in the district, official sources said. The government had earlier included Swine Flu under the Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme after a large number of people got infected. The Minister, who had a tough time in consoling the affected families earlier, also said the government would arrange for reimbursement of expenditure for BPL families. He also said the government would also announce ex-gratia for the families of patients who had succumbed to Dengue.
