Kakinada, Feb 3^rd: For the scheduled MLC elections to be organized on February 6^th  for both East and West Godavari Districts, a training program was organized for the Polling officers (PO) and Assistant polling officers (APO) on Tuesday. The meeting was organized under the chairmanship of East Godavari district collector Gopala Krishna Dwivedi, at Zilla Parishad meeting hall. Speaking on the occasion collector asked the PO’s and APO’s to act with more caution so as to avoid disturbances in the elections. He also advised the staff to shift the polling material to the polling booths before 5^th evening.

Caste factor to play role

Caste factor is also likely to play a vital role in the MLC polls. Observers asses that though there are 9 candidates in fray the competition will exist between united teachers federation’s candidate, Mr Cherukuri Subhashchandra Bose, Jacto supported candidate, Mr chaitanya Raju and head masters association president, Mr Ijjana Satyanarayana. Sources say that the caste factor is likely to tilt the scales for Mr. Satyanarayana as the teaching community has large number of votes from his social section.
