Hyderabad, Sep 15th: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday said the government would give top priority to the requirements of Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Hostels, Schools and 'Gurukulams' and scholarships to the students. He asked the Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Departments to see that files in this regard were cleared immediately. He also asked for detailed project reports for the 20 per cent viability gap funding from the Centre for infrastructure development of Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare hostels and institutions in the state.
Mr. Rosaiah held a detailed review meeting on the functioning and issues of social welfare hostels, residential schools, issues of staff working in Tribal Welfare Ashram schools and hostels with minister and officials. He asked the officials to constantly monitor the mess charges and scholarships due to the students and all other pending issues, and see that the students were sanctioned these without any delay. He said the state government will take up the maintenance work of 4,200 welfare hostels and 1,000 residential schools and directed the officials to ensure providing quality education and better food supply in these institutions.
