Hyderabad, June 14th: Three more swine flu cases were identified in the city on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to 12. Five of them are under treatment at the Andhra Pradesh Chest Hospital, while the others have been discharged. Out of the three cases confirmed on Sunday, two are sisters who came to the city with their mother on June 10 by Air India Flight AI 140 from New York. The third conformed patient is a 45 year old woman who also reached city from New York on the same flight but on June 9.
The woman was accompanied by her 20 month old grandchild. Both she and the baby went to the Chest Hospital, after they developed symptoms, where the woman was confirmed as having the infection. The mother of the two girls is also kept under observation at the AP Chest Hospital and her throat swap samples have been sent to the Delhi based National Institute of Communicable Diseases. (NICD).
