Three day flower show in Vizag

Vizag, Jan 22nd: Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) will hold a three-day flower show at the VUDA park in the port city here. The show would be inaugurated by state Tribal Welfare Minister P Bala Raju, VUDA vice-chairman B Sreedhar. Rare species of flowers, plants and other amazing displays from New Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore apart from local seasonal ones would form part of the show. Besides, fruits and vegetables would also be on display.

Special flower decorations and replicas of Brora caves, temples such as Annavaram, Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi, Simhachalam, Buddhist places and Rythu Bazar would be the added attractions of the show. Other eye-catching features include seminars on Ikebana and urban landscaping, cultural programmes, sand sculptures and food stalls, Mr Sreedhar said. ''Apart from this, a grand pet show is being organised by the side of the venue. Special exercises by the dog squads of RPF and Visakha City Police are highlights in the show,'' he said. Union Minister D Purandeswari, MPs, MLAs and district officials would attend the inaugural function of the flower show, he added.
