Temporary ban on road shows

Hyderabad, Nov 25th: High court has ordered for temporary ban on the road shows of political parties stating that they were causing much inconvenience to the people and many of them were loosing their lives due to stampede.

General Secretary of Abhipraay, Mr Narendra sharma has filed the petition in the court regarding the ban of road shows to safe guard the human rights. Dealing with the petition a divisional bench consisting of Justice R.Subhash Reddy and Chief Justice Anil R.Dave has issued the stay orders and ordered the police not to allow any road shows till further orders.

Praja Rajyam Party Counsel Mr.Raghunandan objecting the petition said that road shows were a part of democratic process and every political party has right to go for road shows. Chief Justice has pointed that 5 people were already died in road shows and that is not a democratic right. “No law permits to take the lives of people”, he added.

High court has send the stay orders for all the political parties and ordered to send the reply to the petition with in a week, and also ordered the Government not to give any permission for road shows till the further orders given by the court.
