Kakinada, Mar 27th: The Telugu New Year Day, Ugadi was celebrated grandly at local Suryakala Mandir on Friday. The program was organized under District Cultural Organisation known as Zilla Samskruthika Mandali. Along with the district SP Y. Nagi Reddy, East Godavari District collector and the president of the organization, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi did Jyothiprajwalana and initiated the program.
Vedapatanam was organized in this occasion. Eminent vedic scholars, Gollapalli Laksmiganapathi Avadhani, Kappagantula Chandrasekhara Avadhani, Gollapalli Venkata Subramanyam and Bhamidapati Mitranarayana Yajulu participated in the Vedapatanam. Nadaswaram was organised by Pasupuleti Venkata Ramana and his team.
Later the Kuchupudi dance performance given by students of Vijaya Sankara Government College for classical dance and music, Rajahmundry and Kuchipudi Natyalaya of Kakinada attracted the huge audience. Samskruthika Mandali convener, Mr. V. Ramanjaneyulu, Agricultural department joint director J. Nandayya and many more participated.
