Hyderabad, Jan 4th: A day before the All Party meet in Delhi, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) said nothing can hold back him from getting separate statehood for Telangana. "Telangana will soon be a separate state," KCR said in Delhi Monday. "Nothing can hold me back to achieve separate statehood for Telangana, I will stay back after January 5 meeting."
Asked about the All Party Meet scheduled for Tuesday, KCR said, "These kinds of tactics are common when other states were formed. These are diplomatic decisions, which the government of India has taken, nothing more, nothing less." Meanwhile, to build pressure on the Centre before the Meet, Joint Action Committee of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions have called for a shutdown Monday.
Earlier, on Dec 26, KCR had threatened to go on indefinite shutdown if the Centre doesn't come to a decision on the Telangana issue by Monday evening. "We will wait till Monday evening for the Centre's announcement failing which there will be an indefinite bandh in the entire Telangana region from Tuesday," KCR said in Hyderabad.
