Teachers go on strike from today

 Hyderabad, Oct 21st: The teacher’s representative society 'Jacto' decided to go for strike as the talks between the educational minister Mr. Damodar Rajanarasimha and the 'Jacto' failed. 'Jacto' demanded for uniform service rules, transfers, and promotions to the teachers which were not accepted by the Government.

Nearly 3 lakh teachers from Z.P. High schools, municipal schools, aided schools, tribal welfare association schools were taking part in this strike. All the academic activities will be affected in nearly 85,000 schools across the district due to strike.

'Jacto' president said that they have submitted their demands to the educational minister on September 20th and the Government did not respond to them, and showed their negligence when called for meeting. So the Joint Action Committee of Teachers Organisation were forced to call for a strike
