Kakinada, Jan 1st:  The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) state organizing secretary and a former Minister, Chikkala Ramachandrarao, warned the Centre of launching an intensified stir in support of united Andhra Pradesh from January 6 if the Centre insists on separation of the state at the crucial all party meet at New Delhi on January 5. Making the party's stance crystal clear at a press conference, he said the Centre seemed to have been determined to grant statehood to Telangana and holding of talks with all parties was only a ritual.

He said had Home Minister P Chidambaram been really sincere on eliciting the opinion of all the parties concerned, he should have done it prior to making a statement on December 9 on commencing the process of formation of a separate Telangana state. Much damage was done to the people of the state by the two regional agitations that rocked Andhra Pradesh, Mr Ramachandrarao said and added that it had created ill will between both the regions while also dividing all the parties. Now the situation went beyond the control of political parties and people themselves have taken up the issue. In these circumstances the New Delhi meet will not serve any purpose, he maintained.
